Importance of Wisdom Tooth Removal
Wisdom teeth may not always need removal if they align properly. Unfortunately, this rarely happens. They often grow in sideways and poorly positioned. On some occasions, wisdom teeth stay trapped beneath the gum, which can lead to many issues as the tooth tries to find a pathway that allows it to grow.
When your mouth does not have enough room for your wisdom teeth, issues can arise, including infection, damage to other teeth, development of cysts, and crowding. To avoid these painful issues, removal of the impacted tooth is necessary.
When you or your child has had braces, and you have spent years and a good deal of money aligning your teeth, you may consider having your wisdom teeth removed before they have a chance to become a problem. They will likely damage all the corrective work done by your orthodontist.
